This is a YMYL subject: what we publish about insurance coverage, contamination and mold can change what someone does with five figures and with their health. That raises the bar on who puts their name to it.
Our standard is that safety and drying coverage is reviewed by someone holding a relevant IICRC certification — Water Damage Restoration Technician, Applied Structural Drying, or Applied Microbial Remediation Technician — and that insurance coverage is reviewed by someone with claims-adjusting experience. Those are industry certifications, not government licences, and we say so on the certifications page.
Every regulatory claim we publish is recorded in our regulatory sourcing log with its primary source and the date it was verified, so a reader can check our work rather than take our word for it.
